I would highly recommend this shop to anybody who wants to get a quality job at a fair price. Recently while visiting Tampa, I ran into some car trouble. I visited a couple of shops before this one to get an estimate to fix the transmission on my Chevy Cargo Van. I got a budget from Curtis (front desk) that was $1000 less than the previous places I went to. They fixed my van in a timely manner and they gave me a warranty on the job and parts. After my experience with AAMCO, I now realize that the other shops did not know what they were doing. One of the other shops I visited said that in order to fix my "problem", they needed a special tool (that didn't exist) to remove the plug for my rear differential. AAMCO showed me an alternative for fixing my “problem” by filling my gear oil for me as it had been leaking and was low. They also discussed a separate issue I'd been having with shifting and gave me a good idea about what needed to be done. Service was fast and friendly. Thanks!
I had my 03 BMW towed in because it had several problems and was not running. Scott took care of everything. He was very nice, honest, stayed in communication each step of the way. These guys are Pros! I took my 2007 VW GTI to them for a new timing belt and water pump. They did a great job at a very competitive price. They'll be getting all my business going forward! Very professional and I appreciate the constant contact filling me in on the status of my car. Every time they called, I felt as if I was the top priority and that they had no other cars but mine. Scott and his team really went above and beyond. We had a issue with our brakes that we had installed due to a defect in the brake pads. It caused all sorts of issues afterwards due to the manufacturer defect and he really went above and beyond to get our truck back on the road. Scott even took it upon himself to drive 2 hours to Lakeland to get a part so we could have the truck back same day. Highly recommended!
I needed a catalytic converter and oxygen sensor for my 2019 Toyota RAV4. The local dealership gave me an estimate of more than $2,800. I took my car to AAMCO Transmissions & Total Car Care for a second opinion. They looked the estimate over and let me know that the dealership had over-inflated the cost of the repair, wanting to charge me for duplicate parts and also for parts that were not needed. The AAMCO estimate was $1,700. Quite a difference! I dropped off my car after close of business one evening, and my car was ready by mid-afternoon the following day. Scott and everybody else I dealt with were professional, knowledgeable, and very nice. I left the experience feeling confident in their honesty and the quality of their work. I highly recommend Scott and his crew at AAMCO Transmissions & Total Car Care. They've earned my future business.
